Apocalypse Cow

Cows are vegetarians- herbivores, not carnivores or cannibals. Left to themselves they would naturally eat green grass and not the flesh of other mammals.
Cattle feed manufacturers always on a quest for mass production and big profits, got the bright idea that they would add meat and bone meal (MBM) to grain-based feed to fatten up cows and increase milk production.

MBM is made from cattle and other animals that are "unfit" for human consumption (as if they were ever fit for human consumption in the first place, but I digress). These were sick and diseased animals that couldn't survive long enough to be slaughtered.

Now, let's pause for a second. It seems like common sense to me that if you feed sick and dead cow parts to healthy, living cows, chances are high that whatever was responsible for killing the sick and dead cows will remain and be passed on in the food chain to affect the other cows...and the humans that eat them.

Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (CJD) is a rare infectious disease proven to be caused by eating the meat of infected cows or what has been called "mad cows". It is characterized by psychiatric symptoms such as paranoia or emotionally inappropriate behavior, poor memory, lack of concentration, and dementia. It produces severe physical damage to the brain causing the victim to become depressed and suicidal, and aggressive with episodes of hallucination.

Dr. Murray Waldman states in his book Dying for a Hamburger that "CJD does not behave like other infectious diseases. Whereas the incubation period (the time between being exposed to the disease until showing symptoms) for most infectious diseases is measured in days or weeks, the CJD incubation period tends to be years, possibly from 5 to 15 years in the case of children, and maybe decades in the case of adults."

So far, as of 2004 about 755 cases of CJD have been identified, while an estimated 10,000 to 10,000,000 potential cases incubating the disease. The scary thing is, doctors don't know who to treat, whose blood to avoid at blood tranfusions, who represents a risk at surgery or dentistry, or which cattle to dispose of.

This situation is serious. Countless numbers of beef-eaters could have been exposed to contaminated beef and not even know it. Beware! The mad cows are impacting a devastating revenge! Ask yourself, "Is a cheeseburger worth dying for?"
